Las Vegas, Nevada (October 10, 2023): Today, Senator Dallas Harris announced that she will seek re-election to the Nevada State Senate in District 11. During her tenure, Senator Harris has been instrumental in securing the largest K-12 education budget in state history, protected access to reproductive health care, and has stood up for working families facing record housing and prescription drug costs.
“Senate Democrats enthusiastically endorse Senator Dallas Harris in her run for re-election,” said Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro. She continued, “Senator Harris has led the charge to bring record increases to our K-12 education budget, stood the ground against MAGA extremists attempting to overturn abortion access, and goes to bat every day for working families struggling with rising housing and medical costs. Senator Harris will continue to be a voice for all Nevadans and Senate Democrats stand ready to ensure she returns for a second term.”
“I am excited to run for re-election and continue serving my constituents in Senate District 11,” said Senator Dallas Harris. She continued, “As the mother of two young children, I know how important it is for our schools to be well funded and to have a qualified teacher in every classroom. It’s why I’ve fought so hard to increase K-12 education funding to record levels and why I’ll continue to fight to reduce class sizes and protect our public schools. I’ve also taken on the tough fights, from standing up to MAGA extremists threatening access to abortion to protecting Nevada families from predatory rental fees and out of control prescription drug costs. I’ll continue to stand up for what’s right, that’s why I am running for re-election.”
